A Dental Technician is an essential member of the dental team who is highly skilled in the design, construction and modification of a variety of dental applicances to replace missing teeth. A Dental Technician applies a high level of attention to detail and precision with good eye-hand co-ordination and manual dexterity skills that allow them to work in dental laboratories across a range of environments.

Dental Technicians working at SA Dental Service provide dental technology services for eligible patients as part of an integrated Dental Technology Network.

  • They also actively support dental education through partnerships with the University of Adelaide and TAFE SA
Statewide Dental Service
  • Dental Technicians work in smaller laboratories which are located at dedicated Prosthetic Centres in some metropolitan clinics and provide removable prosthetic support as part of the local dental team
